PennDOT enacts vacation limits for upcoming wintertime temperature

PennDOT is advising motorists to keep away from all unnecessary travel in anticipation of wintertime climate and icy ailments during the point out. Journey restrictions on vans and other autos on selected roadways will remain till ailments warrant their removing.

UPDATE: PennDOT has lifted Tier 1 vehicle limits as of 10:00 p.m. on:

Starting at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, automobile constraints are enacted on the pursuing roadways:

• The full duration of Interstate 76/276 (PA Turnpike mainline) in each directions and
• The entire duration of Interstate 476 (PA Turnpike Northeast Extension) in both of those instructions

Beginning at 12:15 p.m., auto constraints are expected on the subsequent roadways:

• The whole duration of Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in both instructions
• The whole duration of Interstate 78 in each instructions
• The overall duration of Interstate 83 in both instructions
• The whole duration of Interstate 95 in both of those directions
• The entire size of Interstate 176 in both equally directions
• The whole duration of Interstate 283 in each directions
• The total length of Interstate 295 in each directions
• The whole duration of Interstate 476 (non-tolled portion) in the two directions and
• The overall duration of Interstate 676 in both instructions.

Underneath Tier 1 restrictions, the next motor vehicles are not permitted on impacted roadways:

• Tractors devoid of trailers
• Tractors towing unloaded or lightly loaded enclosed trailers, open trailers or tank trailers
• Tractors towing unloaded or evenly loaded tandem trailers
• Enclosed cargo shipping and delivery trucks that meet up with the definition of a CMV
• Passenger vehicles (automobiles, SUV’s, pickup vans, etc.) towing trailers
• Recreational motor vehicles/motorhomes
• College buses, industrial buses, and motor coaches not carrying chains or Alternate Traction Gadgets (ATD’s) and
• Motorcycles.

Added velocity and car or truck restrictions on these and other roadways could be added dependent on shifting circumstances.
