CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – A winter storm rolled through Northeast Ohio Tuesday afternoon, leaving roadways slick and snow-covered.

Snow will continue to fall overnight and into Tuesday morning. Some residents can expect to wake up to 8 to 10 inches on the ground.
Ohio Department of Transportation crews are working around the clock to clear the roads.
Parking bans issued in Northeast Ohio
However, the snow and icy conditions have caused several accidents across the region.
ODOT encourages Ohioans to avoid unnecessary travel at this time.

10:30 p.m. – Roadways are slick, resulting in several accidents across Northeast Ohio. FOX 8 Reporter Suzanne Stratford captured photos of a Monday night accident on I-71N.
10:17 p.m. – Due to the weather the Medina County Courthouse, located at 93 Public Square, will be closed on Tuesday.
10:14 p.m. – ODOT says I-76 eastbound in Medina County, between SR 3 and SR 57, is closed due to a crash. There is no time frame as to when the road will reopen. Emergency crews are on scene. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
9:45 p.m. – Cleveland State University has canceled all in-person classes for Tuesday due to inclement weather. The university says remote classes will continue as scheduled.
9:18 p.m. – The Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management issued a statement about a delay Tuesday due to a result of poor weather conditions.
The organization released the following statement to FOX 8 Monday night:
Due to inclement weather, Cuyahoga County will be opening on a two-hour delay on 2/16/21 for non-essential employees whose start time is before 10:00 AM. This only applies to employees reporting to physical locations. If you are unsure if you are considered an essential employee, please check with your supervisor. Stay safe.
9:15 p.m. – ODOT says there are 1,251 crews working to plow Ohio’s roads this evening. They are battling heavy snow, freezing rain and sleet. ODOT reminds citizens to avoid travel.
9:05 p.m. – Sandusky County is now on a Level 3 Snow emergency. Roadways are closed to all non-emergency travel due to hazardous conditions.
8:45 p.m. – The Erie County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Level 3 snow emergency, meaning roads are closed to all non-emergency travel due to extremely hazardous conditions.
8:06 p.m. – The Cleveland Public Library announced plans to close its facilities due to weather.
The East Cleveland Public Library will also be closed Tuesday.
7:30 p.m. – Sandusky County has now issued a Level 2 snow emergency, meaning people should stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
7:24 p.m. – Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s usual meal sites will be closed Tuesday, the district announced, due to weather conditions. Food pickups that are usually scheduled for Tuesday are now being moved to Wednesday

6:30 p.m. – Lorain County has now issued a Level 2 travel advisory, meaning people should stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
5:50 p.m. – ODOT is telling people to avoid travel if at all possible this evening, as snow continues to fall in the state.
3:47 p.m. – The City of University Heights is reminding folks to go out and grab bread and milk today. With large amounts of snow expected, they just want everyone to plan ahead.
2:40 p.m. – Cleveland issues a snow parking ban for 8 a.m. Tuesday through 8 a.m. Wednesday. Find out more right here.
11:35 a.m. – Maple Heights has issued a snow parking ban starting at 9 p.m. Monday until further notice.
10:45 a.m. – The City of Fairview Park has issued a snow parking ban until 5 p.m. Tuesday.
10:30 a.m. – Oak Harbor has issued a snow parking ban from 5 p.m. Monday until further notice.
10:15 a.m. – A snow parking ban is in effect for the City of Mentor until further notice.
9:00 a.m. – An emergency snow parking ban is in effect in the City of Tallmadge until 5am on Wednesday.
8:35 a.m. – The City of Green has issued a parking ban until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, February 21.
7:55 a.m. – From Cleveland Division of Police: I 90 Westbound at W. 41st St. Semi flipped on its side. Two lanes closed until further notice. Please avoid the area.
7:45 a.m. – The City of Lorain is issuing a parking ban. It goes into effect at noon Monday through Wednesday.
