Plane travelling to Caribbean diverts to St. John’s after medical crisis

Passengers on an Air France flight scheduled to fly to the Caribbean will invest the night time in St. John’s immediately after the aircraft was diverted owing to a health-related crisis.

According to the St. John’s Airport Authority, the flight travelling from Paris to St. Maarten, a Caribbean island portion of the Netherlands, landed in St. John’s just ahead of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The plane was carrying 120 travellers and 10 crew associates.

Airport firefighters and Jap Overall health personnel responded subsequent the landing.

According to Heather McKinnon, supervisor of the Delta Resort in St. John’s, passengers from the plane arrived at the resort close to 7:20 p.m., where they will invest the evening.

McKinnon stated all passengers ended up screened for COVID-19 by equally provincial and federal brokers at the airport, and will not be permitted to leave their visitor rooms as part of self-isolation protocols.

Passengers will leave the hotel 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning to head back again to the airport, with the flight scheduled to depart St. John’s at 11:40 a.m.
