Goldman Sachs, JPM weigh paying abortion travel costs: report


Big US banking companies Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase are speaking about extending abortion benefits for employees to include vacation, Bloomberg Information reported on Thursday, citing individuals with know-how of the issue.

The Wall Street giants could pay journey expenses for staffers looking for to abort pregnancies away from states with demanding guidelines, the report added.

The US Supreme Courtroom seems to be set to vote to overturn the Roe v. Wade final decision that legalized abortion nationwide, according to a leaked first draft bulk opinion printed by Politico on Monday. 

A JPMorgan spokesperson declined to comment on the report. Spokespeople from Goldman Sachs did not immediately react to Reuters requests for comment.

Other providers such as Levi Strauss and Amazon have pledged to give related help to their US staff who need to have to travel out of states like Texas and Oklahoma that have limited obtain to abortion services.
