A woman visiting Myrtle Seashore this summertime is suing the lodge the place she stayed after she was bitten by mattress bugs, a lawsuit states.
The lawsuit, submitted in Horry County Court on Tuesday, states Amanda Willingham Martell was traveling to the Mermaid Inn when she was bitten. Martell is from Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
In late June, Martell stayed at the Mermaid Inn, found at 5400 N. Ocean Blvd. For the duration of her keep, she was bitten by bed bugs in her area when she slept, the lawsuit states.
Martell instructed resort administration about the mattress bug problem in the mattresses, bedding and carpet.
That resort understood or should have recognised that the home presented to Martell was infested with mattress bugs, the lawsuit states.
As a final result of hotel’s carelessness, Martell experienced lasting psychological distress, decline of pleasures and pleasure of lifestyle, in accordance to the lawsuit.
The Mermaid Inn declined to remark when requested by The Sunshine Information about the lawsuit.
