Axiom House Inc., which is making ready a personal flight to the Global Place Station in January, has tapped veteran astronaut Peggy Whitson to direct its next planned mission.
Whitson, who retired from NASA in 2018 immediately after 22 a long time, will direct a crew of 3 other people on the second vacation in late 2022 or 2023. John Shoffner, an plane pilot and race-motor vehicle entrepreneur from Knoxville, Tennessee, will be a part of her as pilot for the voyage, Axiom reported in a statement Tuesday. Two other crew members will be named later for the vacation, which is regarded as Ax-2.
Whitson and Shoffner will do the job with 10X Genomics Inc. to perform biological investigation aboard the room station in the course of the mission. The journey will last approximately 10 days, like journey time.
