8 times right after American Cruise Line’s American Jazz riverboat received caught on a sandbar in Kentucky’s Lake Barkley, the ship has not still been freed.
In a statement, American Cruise Lines (ACL) stated divers have been in the drinking water to evaluate the condition. The line and the U.S. Coast Guard are doing work on plans to refloat the riverboat. ACL has contracted with marine-restoration business Donjon-SMIT to do the occupation.
A lot of crew customers have disembarked and others have remained onboard, ACL reported. The crew who remained aboard are “entirely equipped with materials and beautifully risk-free and relaxed aboard the ship,” ACL explained.
The cruise line reported it organized journey residence for all visitors and crew. Friends who left the ship on July 9 via tender were transported to Nashville. They stayed at the Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville near the Country Music Corridor of Fame & Museum prior to going household.
The American Jazz “remains fully protected with all onboard methods operational and poses no danger to any crew who continue being on board,” ACL stated. “There proceeds to be no destruction, no air pollution, and no environmental concerns.”
The riverboat continues to be out of the channel and out of the path of regional boaters, ACL included.
The American Jazz’s grounding and what triggered the incident is under investigation.
